I was pleased to celebrate the completion of my AI Lean Business Analysis Apprenticeship, marked by receiving our certificates after starting the programme last July. This has been a valuable opportunity to reflect on how much I have learnt, not only in terms of new tools and techniques, but also in how we approach business challenges, process improvement and change within my working environment.
Throughout the apprenticeship, we explored a range of business analysis and Lean methodologies that help identify problems clearly before moving into solutions. These included process mapping, SIPOC, root cause analysis, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams and waste analysis. These tools have helped me look at how work currently happens, where delays or duplication may exist, and how improvements can be shaped through a more structured and practical approach.
A key part of the programme was learning how to use data to better understand performance and variation. Techniques such as run charts, control charts and descriptive statistics showed us how to move away from assumptions and use evidence to support decision making. We also focused on stakeholder engagement and change management, using tools such as stakeholder mapping, communication planning and ADKAR to understand how to bring people along when introducing new ways of working.
As part of my own project, I am looking at how to build a more structured sales process to improve room hire occupancy at King’s Academy. Through this project, I hope to apply the learning from the apprenticeship in a real business setting and create an improvement that supports both operational efficiency and the wider growth of the Academy.
Finally I would like to thank the team at Lean enabled Group who put all of this together and delivered the course to us over the last 12 months, the expertise and support during this journey was amazing, I would high recommend them to other organisations.
