On Tuesday 23rd June 2026, some of the King’s Academy team attended the Windrush Anniversary event that took place at King’s College Hospital.
It was a privilege to attend such a meaningful event that brought staff from all departments together to honour the extraordinary contribution that the Windrush generation has brought to Britain.
The celebration was a vibrant and heartfelt occasion with beautiful poetry, incredible stories and soulful singing. It provided an opportunity to recognise the legacy of those who arrived from the Caribbean and helped shape the NHS and the wider British society through their resilience and dedication.
This Windrush event was a reminder of the importance of acknowledging the people whose service and sacrifice have had such a lasting impact on our communities. It was inspiring to see colleagues come together to celebrate this history .
